Jewelry Box, third sample.
The top of the lid was routed and filled with an inlay where a Black Kit was the base, with Green and Red Metallic Dutts for accent. This was sanded and polished to 8000 grit. I finished with the Buffing and Polishing Compounds. I left this box a light color and just gave it a very light coat of Danish oil. The inside of the box used my 'perfect pour' technique; about 1/4 inch thick. The lid used the Clear Resin with Green Pearl and GG Green Dyes. The bottom of the box is Clear resin with a good dose of Red Russet to get a deep red. It is important to plan the Dye usage. Too much Dye and the inlay will never harden properly. no amount of cure time will be enough. Experience is key. And keep notes of what does and does not work.
