Available in thirteen colors, InLace Metallic Dusts can be added to any InLace kit as part of a customized 'recipe', providing a glittery, metallic, sparkle, to the final color and texture of the InLace inlay. InLace Metallic Dust can be added in any amount desired; add a little, add a lot. The final effect can offer just a hint of sparkle and glitter or be a key ingredient. As with all InLace additives, total control of the InLace 'recipe' and the final look are controlled by the artisan.
Composed primarily of Polyethylene terephthalate film, InLace Metallic Dusts are easily worked and there is no risk to damaging woodworking or finishing tools. This InLace brand product provides all of the artistic opportunity promised, but without risk to equipment or tools.
Note: The manufacturer added Sea Green to the line as the thirteenth color. It is purported to be a 'light green', lighter than the Green Metallic Dust. However, we cannot make a practical differentiation between the two colors - in any light. We certainly recommend either the Green or Sea Green for customers that are interested adding a green Metallic Dust effect to an InLace recipe, but do not recommend having both; merely one or the other. For 'display purposes', we have lightened the color sample of the Sea Green, but there just isn't much variance at all.
Note: The manufacturer has, after many years, changed the name of 'Green' to 'Emerald Green'. Who knows why. Who cares. It is the same color, merely renamed. Get either the Emerald Green or Sea Green and you are good to go.
Note: The manufacturer has added a fourteenth color, Rainbow. We consider Silver to be the base color, but the color mixture is on the dark side. It is by no means a 'bright rainbow of colors'. Most customers already custom blend their own 'Rainbow' colors. For example, people working with Christmas themed projects will commonly get Silver, Gold, Red, and Green - all the Christmas colors - and then use them individually or custom blend their own mixes. The Rainbow vial is the least expensive way to get a variety of colors with a 'glittery' effect because it is a premixed, defined blend.
Price: $9.50 15 dram vial (1.875 ounces).
